Why add a border to a photo?

A border separates your image from whatever sits behind it. The Fit to ratio option solves this: pick 1:1 and the tool pads your photo out to a perfect square using your chosen border color or gradient, so the whole image is visible with a tidy frame around it. Choose 4:5 for the tallest allowed feed post, 9:16 for full-screen stories and reels, or 16:9 for widescreen thumbnails. Border width is a percentage, not fixed pixels

The border width is measured as a percentage of the image's shorter side. That means a 6% frame looks the same whether your photo is 400 px or 4000 px — you never have to recalculate the pixel size for a bigger image. The tool shows the equivalent pixel width for reference as you drag the slider.

Is my image private?
