About AI Recipe Generator (From Ingredients)
The AI Recipe Generator answers the question every home cook asks: what can I make with what I have? List the ingredients in your fridge and cupboard, and you get three different recipes that use them, ranked by how little you would need to buy. Each recipe has quantities, clear steps, cooking times, calories and macros, and substitutes for anything you're missing.
What you get from every run
- Three different ideas. Not three versions of the same dish: typically something like a stir-fry, a bake and a soup.
- What you have, and what you'd buy. Each ingredient is checked against your list, and recipes that need the least shopping come first. Turn on Only use what I have for zero shopping.
- A substitute for every missing item. No cream? The recipe tells you what works instead.
- Servings that scale. Change the servings and every quantity updates.
- Hands-free cooking. Cook mode shows one step at a time in big text and keeps your screen on.
How to use it
- Type the ingredients you have, or tap the quick-add buttons.
- Keep I have basic staples ticked if you have salt, oil, flour, garlic and spices.
- Choose the meal and cuisine, and optionally a diet, a time limit, your equipment and anything to avoid.
- Click Find recipes. Pick one, set the servings, and open cook mode.
Tips for better recipes from leftovers
- List the main things first: a protein, a carb (rice, pasta, bread, potatoes) and a vegetable give the widest choice.
- Include sauces and condiments. Soy sauce, pesto or a jar of salsa can turn basics into a real dish.
- Use up what spoils first. Leafy greens, fresh herbs, cooked rice and opened dairy should go in early in the week.
- Cooked rice and pasta are perfect for fried rice, frittatas and bakes.

Frequently asked questions
How do I find a recipe with the ingredients I have?
Type the ingredients you have, separated by commas, choose the meal, cuisine and any diet, time limit or equipment, and click Find recipes. You get three different recipes that use your ingredients, each showing which ones you already have and what, if anything, you would need to buy.
Can I make something without going shopping?
Yes. Tick Only use what I have and every recipe uses just your ingredients plus basic staples like salt, oil, flour and spices. Without it, recipes may add up to three extra ingredients, each with a substitute you might already have.
Is the AI Recipe Generator free?
Yes. Every day you get free AI runs, and each run gives you three recipes. Scaling servings, cook mode, printing and copying the shopping list are always free, and the examples on this page don't use a run at all.
Can I choose air fryer, one-pan or no-cook recipes?
Yes. Under the optional settings, choose stovetop, oven, air fryer, microwave, one pan, slow cooker or no cooking at all, and set a time limit of 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
How does cook mode work?
Cook mode shows one step at a time in large type, so you can follow along from across the kitchen, and it keeps your phone or tablet screen from turning off while it's open.
Are the calories accurate?
They are estimates per serving for the quantities listed. The page recalculates calories from protein, carbs and fat whenever the numbers don't agree, so they are consistent, but for exact figures use the nutrition labels of your products.
Can it avoid allergens?
List the foods to avoid and the recipes are written without them. Always double-check product labels, because packaged foods can contain hidden allergens.
