How do I make a watermark move to a random position every few seconds?

On the Movement tab choose Random jump and set Move every to the number of seconds you want, for example 5. The watermark then appears at a new spot each time, never in the same place twice in a row, and can fade out and back in as it moves. Dashed boxes on the paused preview show where it will go next, and Shuffle the spots picks a different sequence.

Which kind of watermark is hardest to remove?

A tiled watermark covers the whole frame, so there is no clean area to crop to. A moving watermark, such as Random jump, cannot be cropped off or blurred out in one go because it keeps changing place; this is why streaming and online course platforms use it against screen recording. A small fixed mark in a corner is the least intrusive but also the easiest to crop.

Should I use a text or an image watermark?

Use text for a name, a social handle, a website or a notice such as DRAFT, since it stays sharp at any size. Use your logo when you want the brand itself to show, or choose Logo + text to put both side by side. A PNG logo with a transparent background looks best; for a JPG logo on white, tick Remove white background.

Can I show the watermark only during part of the video?

Yes. On the Timing tab choose Between two times and enter the start and end in seconds, or pause the preview at the right moment and click Start at the current time or End at the current time. Choose On and off to show it for a few seconds at regular intervals, for example 2 seconds every 10 seconds. The timeline under the preview shows when the watermark is visible.

Will the exported video match what I see in the preview?

Yes. The watermark is drawn at your video's full resolution from exactly the settings you see, and moving watermarks follow the same path and timing as in the preview, so text stays sharp even on 4K footage.

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is added inside your browser tab, so your video and your logo stay on your own device. That is also why very long or very large videos depend on your device's memory rather than on an upload limit.

Can the watermark be removed later?

No. It becomes part of every frame of the new file, which is what makes it effective. Keep your original video if you may need a clean copy.

Is the audio kept?

Yes. The original sound is kept and stays in sync; only the picture changes. The exported video also keeps the original resolution.

What opacity should I use for a logo watermark?

Will a watermark stay in the same place if the camera moves?

How long does adding a watermark take?

In current versions of Chrome, Edge and Safari a one-minute 1080p clip usually takes well under a minute. Older browsers and some file types take noticeably longer, and the time grows with the length and resolution of the video. The progress bar shows an estimate of the time left; keep the tab open until it finishes.
