About Merge Videos
Easily combine multiple video clips into a single, continuous video with our Free Online Video Merger. Choose between Fast Mode (quick, direct copy but requires compatible videos) or Robust Mode (slower, first standardizes each video by re-encoding, then merges for better compatibility). All operations occur entirely within your web browser using FFmpeg.wasm; your video files are processed on your device and never uploaded.
Features:
- Client-Side Processing: Secure, in-browser video merging via FFmpeg.wasm.
- Selectable Merge Modes:
- Fast Mode (Default): Directly copies video streams. Very fast, but best if videos have similar codecs, resolution, and frame rate.
- Robust Mode: Re-encodes videos to a standard intermediate format (.ts) first, then merges. Slower, but much more reliable for videos with different properties.
- Multiple File Upload & Management: Add, reorder, and remove videos.
- Broad Format Support: Works with common video types like MP4, WEBM, MOV, AVI.
- Merged Video Preview & Download: Play the combined video and download as MP4.
- Staged Progress Tracking: Monitor video standardization (in Robust Mode) and final merging steps.
How to Use:
- Load Engine: Wait for FFmpeg to load.
- Upload Videos: Select your initial set of videos. Use "Add More Videos" if needed.
- Manage Videos: Arrange order or remove videos.
- Choose Merge Mode:
- Fast Mode (Default): For speed, if your videos are similar.
- Robust Mode: For best compatibility if videos differ or Fast Mode fails. This mode is slower as it re-encodes each video.
- Merge: Click "Merge Videos".
- Wait & Preview: Progress will be shown. Robust mode will take longer. Once complete, preview the merged video.
- Download: Save the merged MP4 video.
Important Notes:
- Video processing happens in your browser. Robust Mode standardizes videos (e.g., to H.264 video, AAC audio, 30 FPS) and may take considerably longer, consuming more system resources.
- Fast Mode is quickest but can result in errors or sync issues if source videos are not very similar in format and encoding parameters. If Fast Mode fails, please try Robust Mode.
Quick Answer
To merge videos online, upload two or more clips here, drag them into the order you want, pick a mode, and click Merge Videos. Use Fast Mode when the clips came from the same camera or export — it copies the streams without re-encoding and finishes almost instantly. Use Robust Mode when the clips have different resolutions, frame rates or codecs: it re-encodes each one to a common standard (H.264 video, AAC audio, 30 fps) before joining, which is slower but avoids the glitches, freezes and audio drift that a direct join would cause. Everything runs in your browser with FFmpeg.wasm, so nothing is uploaded and no watermark is added.
Common Use Cases
Combining clips from one shoot
Cameras split long recordings into several files. Merging restores one continuous video without opening an editor.
Assembling a montage or highlight reel
Order the best moments, merge, and you have a single shareable file.
Joining a downloaded video that came in parts
Multi-part downloads and screen recordings that were stopped and restarted can be stitched back together.
Adding an intro or outro
Put a title card or a sign-off clip at the front or back of the list before merging.
Building a boomerang or ping-pong loop
Merge a clip with its reversed copy so the action runs forwards and then backwards.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I combine multiple videos into one file?
Upload the clips to this page, drag them into the order you want, choose Fast Mode or Robust Mode, and click Merge Videos. The tool joins them end to end and gives you a single MP4 to download.
What is the difference between Fast Mode and Robust Mode?
Fast Mode concatenates the streams without re-encoding, so it takes seconds, but every clip must share the same codec, resolution, frame rate and audio format or the result can stutter, freeze or lose sync. Robust Mode first re-encodes each clip to a common standard, typically H.264 video with AAC audio at 30 frames per second, and then joins them. It takes much longer but handles clips from different phones, cameras and downloads reliably.
Which mode should I choose?
Start with Fast Mode if all the clips came from the same device or the same export. If the merge fails, or the preview shows glitches, freezes, black frames or audio that drifts out of sync, run it again in Robust Mode.
Can I merge videos with different resolutions or frame rates?
Yes, but you must use Robust Mode. It scales and re-encodes everything to a single standard first. Note that clips with different aspect ratios will be fitted to a common frame, so some may end up with bars.
How do I change the order of the clips?
Rearrange the entries in the file list before you press Merge Videos. The merged output follows the list from top to bottom.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. Merging runs through FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly inside your browser tab, so every file stays on your own device.
Is there a limit to how many videos I can merge?
There is no fixed count, but all the inputs plus the output have to fit in browser memory. Merging many long or high-resolution clips can exhaust the tab. If that happens, merge them in groups and then merge the groups.
Can I add transitions between the clips?
No. This tool joins clips end to end with a hard cut. Crossfades and wipes require a full video editor.
