How to Convert Markdown to PDF
- Add your Markdown. Paste it into the editor, or press Open files or Open folder. A .zip export works too, and the images inside it are found by their paths. Paste screenshots straight into the editor.
- Pick a template. Each one sets the fonts, heading style, tables and code blocks. The preview shows the real pages and the page count; on a phone, switch between Markdown and Preview.
- Set the page. Choose paper, orientation, margins and text size, and turn on page numbers, a table of contents or a new page for each main heading. Open Fonts to change the font, size or weight of any heading level, body text or code.
- Download the PDF. Press Download PDF. There is no print window to set up: the file goes straight to your downloads, named after your first heading.
Saving an AI Chat Answer as a PDF
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot write their answers in Markdown, which is why a copied answer is full of #, ** and | symbols when you paste it into an email or a word processor. Use the chat’s copy button, paste the answer here, and the formatting comes back: tables line up, code keeps its colors and lists keep their structure. Formulas that the chat wrote between \[ \] or \( \) are converted so they display as proper math. Reports, study notes, recipes and plans are ready to share or print.

| Template | Fonts | Good for |

| Editorial (Pro) | Playfair Display, Source Serif 4 | Proposals, newsletters, long reads |
| Book (Pro) | EB Garamond, justified with indents | Stories, manuscripts, booklets |
| Technical (Pro) | IBM Plex Sans and Mono | Manuals, API docs, specifications |

What Markdown Is Supported
| Element | Write it like this | In the PDF |
|---|---|---|
| Headings | # Title, ## Section | Styled headings, bookmarks and table of contents entries |
| Tables | | a | b | with a |---| row | Ruled table; ---: aligns right |

| Code | Three backticks and a language name | Syntax colors in the template’s code font; long lines wrap |
| Math | $E=mc^2$ or $$ … $$ | Formulas typeset as in LaTeX |
| Diagrams | A mermaid code block | Flowcharts, sequence and pie charts as sharp vector drawings |
| Footnotes | [^1] and [^1]: note | Numbered notes at the foot of the page |
| Images and links | , [text](url) | Images found in the opened folder or .zip, never wider than the page; clickable links |
| Obsidian embeds | ![[photo.png]], [[Note]] | The image; links to notes become plain text |
Tips for a Good-Looking PDF
- Résumés and letters: choose Classic or Résumé with Normal margins. If the page count shows a second page with only a line or two, switch to Narrow margins or Small text.
- Long documentation: turn on the table of contents and a new page for each main heading; Modern and Technical read well on screen and on paper.
- Wide tables or code: switch to Landscape or Small text to fit more on each page.
- Math-heavy notes: Academic uses the same font family as LaTeX, so formulas and text match.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I convert a Markdown file to PDF?
Open the .md file on this page or paste its text. The preview shows the real pages. Pick a template and the paper size, then press Download PDF. The file is saved straight to your device and keeps your headings, tables, code and links.
How do I save a ChatGPT or Claude answer as a PDF?
Use the copy button under the answer, which copies it as Markdown, and paste it here. Tables, code blocks and lists appear as they did in the chat. Math written with \[ \] or \( \) is converted automatically so formulas display correctly. Then press Download PDF.
Will the text in the PDF be selectable and searchable?
Yes. The PDF contains real text, not a picture of the page, so you can select, copy and search it. Links stay clickable, headings appear as bookmarks in your PDF reader, and the file stays small because only the letters you use are embedded.
Does it support tables, code highlighting and math?
Yes. It supports GitHub-style Markdown: tables with alignment, task lists, strikethrough, footnotes, fenced code blocks with syntax colors, LaTeX math between $ and $$, and Mermaid diagrams in a mermaid code block.
Is the preview exactly what I will get?
Yes. The preview is drawn by the same typesetting engine that writes the PDF, so page breaks, the page count and every line match the downloaded file. The engine loads once, about 9 MB, and your browser keeps it for later visits.
Which templates and fonts can I use?
Modern (Inter), Classic (Libertinus Serif) and Academic (Computer Modern, the LaTeX look) are free. Editorial, Book, Technical, Résumé and Elegant use fonts such as Playfair Display, EB Garamond, IBM Plex and Lora; anyone can preview them, and downloading with them is part of Pro. Under Fonts for headings, text and code you can also set the font, size and weight of H1, H2, H3, body text and code.
How do I add page numbers or a table of contents?
Turn on Page numbers and Table of contents under Page. Page numbers appear at the bottom of every page in every browser, and the table of contents lists your headings with their page numbers. Turn on New page for each main heading to start every # heading on a new page.
Does it work with Chinese, Japanese, Korean or Thai?
Yes. The page detects the script you write in and loads a matching Noto font, so text wraps correctly and nothing shows as empty boxes. The first time, these fonts take a few seconds to download.
Why are my images missing?
A Markdown file only stores the path to each image, and a web page cannot read files from your computer by path. Open the whole folder, or the .zip that Notion, Obsidian or Typora exported, and relative paths such as images/chart.png are found automatically. You can also press Add images or paste a screenshot into the editor. Images from a web address work when that site allows it.
Can I combine several Markdown files into one PDF?
Yes. Open several .md files, a folder or a .zip, put them in order, and every file uses the same template, page and font settings. Combine into one PDF starts each file on a new page under one table of contents; Download all as ZIP makes a separate PDF for every file. Both are part of Pro; converting files one at a time is free.
Is it free, and is my document uploaded?
Converting a document with the free templates is free with no daily limit, no account and no watermark. Your text, images and PDFs are made in your browser and never uploaded.
