About Reorder PDF Pages
The Reorder PDF Pages tool lets you rearrange the pages of a PDF by dragging them into place — right inside your browser. Open a document, see every page as a thumbnail, then grab any page by its grip and drop it into a new position. Each tile shows both its new position and, once it moves, its original page number, so a reshuffle is always easy to follow. One-tap helpers reverse the whole document or fix a duplex scan whose back pages came out reversed, and move buttons plus arrow keys let you nudge a single page with precision on desktop or mobile. Because everything happens locally on your device, your file is never uploaded to any server, which makes it safe for contracts, bank statements, medical records, scanned IDs and any other private document.
How to Reorder Pages in a PDF
- Open your PDF. Drag your file onto the drop area or click Choose a PDF file. It is read in your browser and stays on your device.
- Drag pages into order. Grab a page by its ⠿ DRAG grip and drop it where you want it — the other pages slide aside and renumber automatically. On a phone use the ‹ and › buttons on each page, or focus a page and press the arrow keys, to move it one step at a time.
- Use a one-tap helper if it fits. Tap Reverse to flip the whole document, or Fix duplex scan to rebuild the order when the backs of a double-sided scan came out reversed. Reset order restores the original.
- Save and download. When the order looks right, click Save Reordered PDF. The rearranged file is saved to your device with every page at its original quality.
What Makes This Reorder PDF Pages Tool Different
No upload, no cloud processing, no account. The editing runs in JavaScript on your own device, so confidential files never leave your computer or phone.
Drag-and-drop works with a mouse, a pen or a finger. A dedicated grip means you can drag a page on your phone while the rest of the page still scrolls normally.
Scanned all the fronts, flipped the stack, then scanned the backs? One tap interleaves the halves and rebuilds the correct 1, 2, 3, 4 order for you.
Each page shows its new position and a was p5 tag once it moves, and moved pages glow, so you always know exactly what changed before you save.
Common Uses
Put a cover page or table of contents first, move an appendix to the end, fix the page order of a document that was scanned back-to-front, rebuild a double-sided scan whose backs came out reversed, group related pages together before merging, reorder photos or slides exported to PDF, or simply put a few pages that ended up out of sequence back where they belong.
Quality & Compatibility
The pages are copied into the new PDF exactly as they were, just in a different order, so their text stays selectable and searchable and their images keep the original resolution — nothing is re-rendered or recompressed. The result is a standard PDF that opens in every reader, browser and mobile device, and the pages are renumbered automatically to match their new order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this Reorder PDF Pages tool free and private?
Yes. It is completely free and runs entirely in your web browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to any server, so it stays private on your own device, and the reordered file has no watermark and needs no sign-up.
How do I move a page to a new position?
Grab a page by its ⠿ DRAG grip and drop it where you want it in the grid; the other pages slide out of the way and renumber automatically. On a phone you can also use the ‹ and › move buttons on each page, or focus a page and press the arrow keys, to nudge it one step at a time.
What does Fix duplex scan do?
When you scan a double-sided document by scanning all the fronts, flipping the whole stack, then scanning all the backs, the backs come out in reverse order and the PDF reads pages 1, 3, 5, then 6, 4, 2. Fix duplex scan interleaves the first half of the document with the reversed second half, rebuilding the correct 1, 2, 3, 4 order in a single tap. Always glance at the preview afterwards and drag any stray page by hand if your scan was arranged differently.
Will reordering the pages change their quality?
No. The pages are copied into the new PDF exactly as they were, just in a different order, so their text stays selectable and searchable and their images keep the original resolution. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed.
Can it reorder a password-protected PDF?
An encrypted or password-protected PDF cannot be edited directly, and the tool will tell you when a file is protected. Remove the protection first — for example with your reader's Print to PDF or Save a copy option — then open the unlocked file.
Is there a limit on the number of pages or file size?
There is no fixed limit. Because the whole PDF is held and rebuilt in your browser, the only real limit is your device's memory. Very large scanned PDFs with hundreds of pages work but take a little longer to draw all the thumbnails.
