A score of 100% on the Standard (A 90 / B 80 / C 70 / D 60) scale earns a grade of A (Excellent).

About Easy Grader (EZ Grader)
The Easy Grader (also known as an EZ Grader) turns the number of questions on a test and the number of wrong answers into an instant percentage score and letter grade. Instead of dividing by hand for every paper, you enter the question count once and get a complete, color-coded grade chart for every possible score โ then read off each student's grade in a second, or drag the slider to grade a single paper.
How the Grade Percentage Is Calculated
The score is simply the share of questions answered correctly, expressed as a percentage:
For example, a student who gets 22 of 25 questions right scores \( \frac{22}{25} \times 100 = 88 \) percent. The number of correct answers is just the total questions minus the wrong answers, so the easy grader only needs two numbers to grade every paper on the stack.
What Makes This Easy Grader Different
- Full grade chart, not one number: see the score and letter grade for every possible number of wrong answers at once โ perfect for grading a whole class quickly.
- Live slider: drag to a number of wrong answers and the score, letter grade, and grade-band pointer update instantly.
- Choice of grading scale: switch between the Standard scale, a Plus/Minus scale with grades like A- and B+, or a lenient scale.
- Rounding control: decide whether borderline scores like 89.5% round up to an A or stay a B.
- Printable: print the chart and keep it on your desk while marking.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an easy grader?
An easy grader, also called an EZ grader, is a tool that turns the number of questions and the number of wrong answers into a percentage score and a letter grade. Teachers use it to grade a whole stack of papers quickly without doing the division by hand every time.
How is the grade percentage calculated?
The percentage is the number of correct answers divided by the total number of questions, multiplied by 100. For example, 22 correct out of 25 questions is 22 รท 25 ร 100, which equals 88 percent.
How do I grade a test with this tool?
Enter the total number of questions and the tool instantly builds a chart of every possible score. For each paper, find the row that matches how many answers the student got wrong, or drag the slider to that number, and read off the percentage and letter grade.
Can I change the grading scale?
Yes. You can choose the Standard scale where A is 90% and above, a Plus/Minus scale that includes grades like A- and B+, or a lenient scale where A starts at 85%. The chart and letter grades update to match the scale you pick.
How does rounding affect the letter grade?
Rounding decides what happens at the boundary. With nearest-whole-percent rounding, a raw score of 89.5% becomes 90% and earns an A. With exact rounding it stays 89.5% and earns a B on the Standard scale. You can switch between nearest, always-round-up, and exact rounding.
Is this easy grader free?
Yes, the easy grader is completely free to use online, works on phones, tablets, and computers, and never asks you to sign in. You can print the grade chart to keep on your desk while marking.
