About Batting Strike Rate Calculator

What is Batting Strike Rate?
Batting strike rate is the number of runs a batter scores for every 100 balls they face. It is the standard way to measure a batter's scoring tempo — how quickly they turn deliveries into runs. A strike rate of 150 means the batter scores 150 runs per 100 balls, or an average of 1.5 runs every ball. In limited-overs cricket, where balls are scarce, strike rate is often as important as the total number of runs.
Batting Strike Rate Formula
For example, a batter who scores 68 runs from 42 balls has a strike rate of \( \frac{68}{42} \times 100 \approx 161.9 \) — an explosive T20 innings.
Batting Average Formula
Batting average measures consistency — the mean number of runs a batter makes before being dismissed. A batter with 400 runs across 10 dismissals averages 40. If a batter has never been dismissed, the average is mathematically undefined (you cannot divide by zero), which scorecards record as not out.
Strike Rate vs Batting Average
These two numbers answer different questions, and reading them together tells you what kind of batter someone is:
